CHARACTERISTICS OF REPTILES



Reptiles are cold-blooded vertebrates.They have hair nor feathers but have scaly bodies.They can lives entire of their live on dry land.Their the first modern vertebrates that adapted to life completely out of water.They get their oxygen through lungs,even their in water they still breath with lungs,only when they lays egg they would come ashore.Raptiles skin kidneys and eggs are all adapted to conserve water.

eart consiste of two atria for receive blood and one ventricle for pumping blood.They have brain.



Most reptiles they are sexually reproduce,although some capable of asexual reproduction.Reptiles use cloaca ( single exit/entrance at the base of the tail where waste is also thrown ) during their mate.The male and the female will press their cloacas together,the male will produce sperm.The reptiles some of them give birth some lay eggs,reptiles that give birth are not mean that their mammle as reptile cant produce milk for their youth.Exclamation

The eggs of raptiles are covered with membranes and leathery.The membrane are for protecting the shell and other membrane inside the egg that called amniotic egg will keep the embryo moist.There are four layers in the egg membrane,first membrane protects the embryo and keep moist,second membrane hold the yolk or food the third membrane for brane holds the embryo’s waste the fouth membrane will exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide.



Reptile have strong jaws for crushing or gripping the prey,their jaw muscles can became larger and long for requirement use.


The snake move in different ways from other reptiles that use legs walk and run.The snake move by contracting or shortening bands of muscles that connect their ribs and backbones,that help them slither across the ground side by side motion.
