Science Assignment--Reptiles
Snakes wave in the jungle, turtles climb slowly on the rocks, lizards move deadly in the deserts, crocodiles searching for preys in the rivers, those wild animals you often see on the Discovery channels are called “reptiles.” Here are the informations about it.

First, I’m telling you a little bit about their history and facts.
It has been around for a long time. They are believed to have evolved from amphibians and have deloped several adaptations for life out of water. Today there are 6,800 reptile spieces on earth. One major characteristic of teptiles is the presence of scales from a waterproof barrier of skin, which allows reptiles to exist away from water without the threat of dehydration. Another characteristic is the regulation of internal body temperature by the external absorption of heat. Reptiles are ectothermic. Unlike endothemic creatures, which must use calories from food to regulate body temperature, reptiles don’t require much food to maintain body temperature and survive.
Reptiles are air-breathing, cold-blooded vertebrates that have scaly bodies as opposed to hair or feathers.
Circulatory system--Most reptiles have closed circulation via a three-chamber heart consisting of two atria and one, variably-partitioned ventricle.
Respiratory system--All reptiles breathe using lungs.
Nervous system--The reptilian nervous system contains the same basic part of the amphibian brain, but the reptile cerebrum and cerebellum are slightly larger.
Reproductive system--Most reptiles reproduce sexually, though some are capable of asexual reproduction.
