Talc
A mineral is a naturally occurring substance formed through geological processes that has a characteristic chemical composition, The study of minerals is called mineralogy.
Talc is a metamorphic mineral resulting from the metamorphism of magnesian minerals such as pyroxene, amphibole, olivine and other similar minerals in the presence of carbon dioxide and water. This is known as talc carbonation or steatization and produces a suite of rocks known as talc carbonates.
Talc is primarily formed via hydration and carbonation of serpentine, via the following reaction;
Serpentine + Carbon Dioxide → Talc + Magnesite + Water
Talc is not soluble in water, but it is slightly soluble in dilute mineral acids. Its color ranges from white to grey or green and it has a distinctly greasy feel. Its streak is white.

Five feature of mineral.
1. They are solids.
2. They are formed naturally in the earth.
3. They have the same chemical makeup throughout.
4. They are not alive or made of living things.
5. They have definite arrangement of atoms.
